Reporting to the Client Project Manager, with responsibility for marine construction and engineering related issues for a renewable energy project.
Key tasks cover:
· Review of engineering/technical submissions from contractors; review of market place for marine construction; review of capabilities and suitability of marine construction plant; · Advise on key technical issues relating to construction, with input from other technical specialists in the wider Project Team (turbines, electrical, structural, cables etc). · Preparation of project briefing notes and reports. · Manage a team for offshore construction work, including offshore representatives, marine warranty surveyor etc. · Interface with others in the Project Team to ensure the progression of the project to time and budget. · Follow and enforce the Client’s policy & procedures, incl. Health & Safety, QA & Environmental.
Authorities:
· Project expenditure within budget · Peer review of technical briefing notes and reports · Purchase in accordance with Client procedures
Skills:
Technical knowledge of engineering related to design and construction of offshore projects (vessels, structures, foundations etc) · Client facing skills (position will be largely office based and involve contribution to a project team environment – common goals · Working knowledge of CDM Regs and HSEQ for offshore works
Experience/aptitude:
· Significant experience of marine construction (preferably in offshore wind, but O&G and marine cables is acceptable (project value of £M’s). A proportion of this must be contractor based. · Some knowledge of marketplace in marine construction Willing to learn in a new project team environment and to see the project develop successfully.
